Industrial Applications and Consumer Goods
The impressive properties of titanium open a large range of new possibilities for industrial applications and consumer goods.
INDUSTRIAL
In many corrosive process environments, titanium proves to be the most economical solution especially because it is a light metal. Tanks, vessels, heat exchangers, columns, piping systems, valves, risers, condensers for power plants are commonly made with titanium.
Many industries already use titanium: oil & gas, pulp & paper, desalination, food industry, pharmaceutical, flue gas desulphurization, nuclear, marine, military, metal matrix composites, high technology...
For the most critical industrial applications, TiFast was certified by TUV for Pressure Equipment (Pressure Equipment Directive – PED 97/23/EC). TiFast is also present in the nuclear project ITER.
CONSUMER GOODS
Consumer goods is the field where titanium should have the brightest future thanks to the combination of so many interesting properties with an inherent beauty.
- Eyeglass frames, watches, smart phones, jewellery, pens, coins, luggage, loudspeakers...
- Sport equipment like golf clubs, skis, bicycles, tennis racquets or for diving, camping...
- Architectural like the Guggenheim museum of Bilbao and design furniture.
- Cooking equipment, glasses, body protections, knifes, keys, guitars, drums, piercing...
